I am a personal trainer, massage therapist and reflexologist with over 20 years experience who operates out of a private, fully equipped workout studio at 226 East 54th Street, Manhattan. I've spent my career using and refining my skills in order to help people improve their health, fitness, and well-being. My credentials include diplomas and certifications in Personal Training, Sports Massage, Trigger Point Therapy, Thai Yoga Massage, Reflexology, Myofascial Release and Stretch Therapy. I'm currently studying to become a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant and am excited to continue learning and evolving.
For your convenience, I also design and facilitate In-Home Workouts, by sourcing equipment, maximizing space, and offering online training sessions for those outside the immediate area. My clients are people who want to increase strength and optimize wellness with the guidance of a qualified professional.
What is my approach to training/body image?
My philosophy is simple, if you want to be stronger, you must push yourself and use resistance for your muscles in order to get stronger. If you want to lose weight, you need to burn more calories than you consume. If you want to optimize your health, you need to combine nutrition, exercise and rest.
Everyone comes to the gym under different circumstances and with different goals, so you need to find what works best for you. I’d like to help you do this.
At my studio, I can offer you some of the best tools and expert instruction on how to use them, or alternatively I can provide you with information on the most efficient alternatives without studio equipment.
It's a private studio, so no crowds + no waiting = serious results in a shorter time period.
The Actual Workout
We will use specialized weight training equipment to efficiently exhaust muscle groups for strength gain and toning. It doesn't take a long time, but it isn't easy.
Each training session incorporates a series of exercises at 60-90 seconds each. Constant tension, without rest. Safe. Effective. Results Oriented. It’s not the reps, but the constant tension on the muscles, that deliver superior results. There is no momentum used at the beginning or end of each rep, when the muscles are unable to move the weight safely without compensation the exercise ends.
There is no guessing involved, each workout is measured, and you can see your chart and the weights, so there is a clear indication of strength increases, week after week, month after month.
As a trainer with over 20 years experience, personally I’ve found Slow Motion Training to be superior when it comes to effectiveness and safety. For a multitude of reasons, not everyone can work to muscle failure or through complete range of motion in every joint plane and axis, therefore when appropriate, all exercise is modified to meet individual challenges while working towards optimal strength and function.
